So when Goldens in Golden rolled into town — bringing hundreds, if not thousands, of smiling pups (and their equally devoted humans) to celebrate the joy of owning a Golden Retriever — we knew The Down Low had to be part of it.
And what a weekend it was.
A Town Filled With Golden Light
Every year, Golden, Colorado becomes something magical during Goldens in Golden. Owners travel from across the country — and even around the world — to walk the streets with their best friends by their side.
The sidewalks fill with fluffy tails.
Storefronts glow a little warmer.
Strangers become friends over shared stories of muddy paws and unconditional love.
If you’ve ever loved a Golden, you understand. They aren’t just pets. They’re family. They’re comfort after a long day. They’re joy in its purest form.
The Down Low Welcomes the Pack
At The Down Low, we were honored to host attendees looking for a place to unwind, connect, and keep the celebration going.
While the pups soaked up the attention downtown, their humans gathered inside for a well-earned break — playing pool, lining up darts, and raising glasses of craft beer and cocktails.
The energy inside matched the spirit outside: warm, welcoming, and full of heart.
A Few Extra Touches (Because Golden Hair Is Forever)
We couldn’t let Golden Retriever owners leave empty-handed.
To celebrate the weekend, The Down Low distributed:
- Branded lint rollers (because loving a Golden means embracing the fur)
- Custom Down Low bandanas for the dogs
- Down Low t-shirts for their humans
Seeing pups proudly sporting bandanas while their owners played pool in matching tees? That’s the kind of community moment you can’t manufacture.
It was playful. It was heartfelt. It was perfectly Golden.
